In this work we consider two models of two dimensional discrete systemssubjected to three different types of coupling and analyse systematically theperformance of each in realising synchronised states.We find that linearcoupling effectively introduce control of chaos along withsynchronisation,while synchronised chaotic states are possible with an additiveparametric coupling scheme both being equally relevant for specificapplications.The basin leading to synchronisationin the initial value plane andthe choice of parameter values for synchronisation in the parameter plane areisolatedin each case.Comment: 17 pages 8 figures. submitted to physica script
