Vanadium sulphide (VS 4 ) nanosheets were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The Polyaniline (PANI) and the VS 4 -PANI (PMCs) were synthesized by the in-situ polymerization method. The structural parameters were calculated from the PXRD pattern. The HR-SEM was used to record the surface morphology, which shows the interface between the VS 4  and Polyaniline matrix. The absorption spectra and tauc plot were used to determine the optical band gap. To study the molecular interactions the Raman spectra was used. The synthesized materials were utilized to detect the presence of the metal ions such as Au 3+  and Fe 3+  (quenching) was using PL spectroscopy.
