This paper is entitled to investigate microstructure of ARMCO Fe after constrained groove pressing and further after merging of both constrained groove pressing and cold rolling processes. Optical microscopic studies revealed increased number of equiaxed grains as a function of constrained groove pressing cycles. Such grain morphology was later transformed into a complete elongated grain structure due to plain strain compression during different percentage cold rolling reductions. Cold rolling not only increased strain progressively in the constrained groove pressed samples, but also had a pronounced influence in bringing in ultrafine grained structures (less than ~1 µm) in the material.
