In this contribution, we report the synthesis and characterization of two diiron propane-1,2-dithiolate complexes with monosubstituted cyclohexyldiphenylphosphine or dicyclohexylphenylphosphine. Treatment of complex [Fe 2 (CO) 6 { µ -SCH 2 CH(CH 3 )S}] ( 1 ) with one equivalent of cyclohexyldiphenylphosphine or dicyclohexylphenylphosphine in the presence of Me 3 NO·2H 2 O as the decarbonylation agent gave the products [Fe 2 (CO) 5 (Ph 2 PC 6 H 11 ){ µ -SCH 2 CH(CH 3 )S}] ( 2 ) [Fe 2 (CO) 5 {PhP(C 6 H 11 ) 2 }{ µ -SCH 2 CH(CH 3 )S}] ( 3 ) in 73% and 87% yields, respectively. Complexes  2  and  3  have been characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopy, as well as confirmed by X-ray crystallography.
