Two polymeric Cd(ΙΙ) complexes of [Cd 2 L 2 ( µ -Cl) 4 ] n  ( 1 ) and [Cd 2 L 2 ( µ -SCN) 4 ] n  ( 2 ) were synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis, fluorescence and TGA. Complex  1  crystallizes in monoclinic system with space group  P 2 1 / c . Complex  2  crystallizes in triclinic system with space group  p  − 1. Both of  1  and  2  are double-bridged Cd(ΙΙ) polymeric complexes bridged by two chlorine atoms and two thiocyanate ions, respectively.
