The paper explores the development of AA2014-Nitinol strip-solder alloy based self-healing metallic composite structure. Based on input parameters (i.e. composite geometry and external factors), Taguchi L8 mixed orthogonal array was designed and analyzed using analysis of variance. After healing, the obtained results show a significant improvement in the recovery of crack width to 100%, recovery in crack depth to 87.85% and recovery in flexural strength to 75.40% respectively. Further based on the S/N ratio a predictive Fuzzy model was designed that effectively contributed to find an optimal combination of parameters to achieve effective healing in damaged structures.
