Fatigue/fracture characterization of carbon-epoxy laminates under pure mode I loading is addressed in this work. Double cantilever beam fatigue/fracture tests were performed to obtain the fatigue lives and the modified Paris law parameters representative of stable crack growth. These experimental Paris law coefficients were used as input parameters in a high-cycle fatigue cohesive zone model. The fatigue life obtained in the numerical simulation was compared with the experimental ones and a good agreement between them was found. Subsequently, the numerical model was used to evaluate the influence of several parameters on the mode I interlaminar fatigue/fracture behavior of CFRP laminates.
