This study aimed to describe the situation of psychoactive substance use in Jordan during the period of 2014–2018, recorded by Anti-narcotic Department (AND). A retrospective descriptive study was conducted of all cases (2014–2018) recorded under the code “substance use” by the AND. Data about the confiscated substances classified according to their types and quantities and all cases referred to treatment were tabulated into a data sheet. Analytic methods included univariate descriptive statistics for all patients. Marijuana and Hashish formed the highest seized psychoactive substances followed by synthetic cannabinoid (aka. Joker). In all years of the study, seized amounts of Captagon was higher than those of Tramadol. 52.8% (n = 2998) of all recorded cases were among users of 20–30 years. Being at this age group (20–30 years) was associated with a significantly greater likelihood of admission to treatment ( P  &lt; .001). From all substance use cases, synthetic cannabinoids use was the most predominant among users; 44% (n = 3039) followed by hashish; 26% (n = 1800). Despite strict laws and regulations, psychoactive substances, especially synthetic cannabinoids, can still leak into the country. Additional efforts are required to control rate of substance use in Jordan.
