This article concerns the experience of teleanalysis with children that the author experienced during Covid-19 emergency lockdown. First I am sharing some reflection on the ‘unknown boundaries’ of the new setting we find ourselves in and on how it specifically affects psychoanalysis with children. Then I propose three examples of clinical situations with children that show how it was possible to play and transform the child’s anxieties in a narrative way not just in spite of, but rather because of the characteristics of the telematic tools. I consider everything that enters the screen, even the objects in the children’s rooms, as ‘objects’ precisely, or characters that testify something that is happening and that needs to find a space for a narration in two voices. In each of the three examples, it is possible to see the analytic couple using the setting and the new tools in a different way in order to be able to access an imaginative and transformative dimension in the playing and narration that is taking place in the psychoanalytic field/screen. The first clinical example highlights how the themes of distance and the need to keep the object close can be metaphorized and transformed in a narrative way. The second clinical example shows how the screen could become the space of the squiggle game and how the new setting and tools offered an occasion to signify, après-coup, some mysterious events of the previous years of therapy. The third one is the record of a great evolution in the psychoanalytic treatment of a boy that in remote sessions found a new freedom to express emotions and contents that he was previously holding back.
