The work deals with study the effect of the NiCrWC catalyst on the composition of the products of catalytic cracking of heavy oil at a temperature of 450 °C for 100 minutes is established. The relevance of research aimed at studying the catalytic activity in the processing of heavy oil. It has been installed that the addition of NiCr-WC promotes the retardation of coke and asphaltenes formation and an increase in the destruction of high-molecular components of heavy oil. The use of a catalyst makes it possible to increase the yield of gasoline and diesel fractions by 35.8 wt % compared to the initial oil. Due to the formation of gaseous products, the removal of 2 wt % of sulfur from oil is observed. The data of X-ray phase analysis and scanning electron microscopy show that metal oxides are sulfidized on the surface of nichrome particles to form sulfides of these metals. It was found that Ni x S y  and Cr x S y  formed on the catalyst surface contribute to an increase in the degradation of oil resins and asphaltenes.
