The influence of Nb 2 O 5  additive on elastic and dielectric properties of NiZnCu ferrite is reported. The longitudinal and shear wave velocities were measured by ultrasonic pulse transmission method. The elastic constants increased as the Nb 2 O 5  contents increased. The dielectric parameters such as dielectric constant (ɛ′) and dielectric loss tangents as a function of frequency and Nb 2 O 5  additive composition for all samples at room temperature. The variations in the dielectric constant (ɛ′) and dielectric loss tangents values were explained using Maxwell–Wagner interfacial polarization according to Koops phenomenological theory. AC conductivity was increased with an increase in the frequency. A reduction in AC conductivity with Nb 2 O 5  additive is reported.
