Due to the diverse applications of benzothiazoles as a privileged core in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, a simple and efficient method for synthesizing benzothiazoles  via  aniline, KSCN, K 2 CO 3 , and K 2 S 2 O 8  is very attractive. In this study, the effective and efficient procedure for the synthesis of benzothiazoles derivatives was described. This protocol avoids the use of hazard chemical oxidants, such as bromine, thionyl chloride, iodine, and H 2 O 2 , and provides an alternative procedure for synthesizing benzothiazoles. K 2 S 2 O 8  as an oxidant was applied to synthesis of benzothiazoles in good to excellent yields.
