Three years ago, the COVID-19 pandemic caused huge loss of life and affected people’s daily lives. Scholars argue that the pandemic affected women and men differently in many ways, including in political life and in decision-making processes. This article aims to analyse the percentage of women elected as MPs in the parliaments of Western Balkans countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. This percentage is compared with the percentage of women elected before the COVID-19 pandemic and with the EU countries’ average. Comparison and analysis of the scientific works, legislation, and statistical data on women’s participation in the parliaments of these countries demonstrate an increased average percentage of women elected as MPs in their parliaments after elections held during COVID-19.
