The herbicidal, antifungal and antibacterial effects of carvone and its PLGA linked composite were studied. To synthesis of the composite, a ratio of 1: 2 of PLGA to carvone was used. The herbicidal activity of the composite and carvone was performed on seed germination and seedlings growth of some weeds. The antifungal test was performed using potato dextrose agar medium mixed with carvone and carvone- PLGA. The antibacterial activity of the compounds was studied by using of disk diffusion method and calculation of minimal inhibitory concentration. The results indicated that carvone and carvone-PLGA suppressed growth of some common weeds. The results of Antifungal test showed that both carvone and carvone-PLGA displayed strong antifungal activity against plant pathogens. However, the results revealed that the tested compounds have a modest antibacterial activity against tested pathogenic bacteria. It was concluded that carvone-PLGA composite was more effective than carvone for all of tested bioactivities.
