Degradation study of Erythrosine-B and Eosin-Y (xanthene dyes) was carried out by photocatalysis using nanomaterial ZrCdPbO 4 , which was synthesised by solid co-precipitation method under controlled conditions. The prepared photocatalyst was characterised by XPS, XRD, FESEM, UV-VIS analysis and other techniques to find out the presence of oxidation states of elements, surface structure and band gap energy. Rate of degradation was evaluated by varying different parameters like pH, amount of photocatalyst, concentration of dyes and irradiation power. ZrCdPbO 4  photocatalyst plays a key role in degradation of dyes which was confirmed through control experiments.
