According to the results of research, building windows, due to direct contact with solar radiation, impose significant heat on the interior spaces and make them the main factor in increasing the cooling load in building. In this article, using Design Builder and Energy Plus software, the shape of the window is examined in three modes in terms of receiving radiation on the north and south fronts. In the next step, the best shape of the window is selected and compared with the initial state in terms of cooling load and energy consumption. The results show that the square window has poor performance compared to other modes. So that the horizontal and vertical windows in the southern and northern facades, respectively, have transmitted 59.86 and 29.19 KWh less radiation to the space during a year. This reduction in the case study is equivalent to 4870 kWh for a one-year period.
