Power generation by renewable energy sources plays a major role to meet the consumer demand. The proposed renewable energy sources, Photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy sources are integrated with power grid using a Voltage Source Converter (VSC). The renewable energy sources have been simulated and evaluated under different operating conditions using MATLAB environment. The main objective of this research paper is to investigate the renewable energy system and its effectiveness in load shedding using the fuzzy logic control algorithm. In this study, three types of load priority have been labelled: high priority, medium priority and low priority power load. The fuzzy controller will select the priority of the load, based on the availability of PV and wind power supply. The controller performance analysis under various operating conditions is evaluated by IEEE 1547 standards for proving the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.
