This paper presents the energy, exergy, and economic analysis of conventional solar still (CSS) and Modified solar still integrated with sand bed earth (MSSIE). The energy analysis has been done with the help of Dunkle and Kumar &amp; Tiwari after using modified relations of Tsilingiris. Throughout the experimentation, the internal efficiency of MSSIE is higher than CSS (viz. 14.67%). The MSSIE shows a 41.9% higher value of exergy efficiency after 14:00 h than CSS. The distillate yield recorded from MSSIE is 12.64% higher than CSS. The AWC has been evaluated as 1.2, 1.33, 1.47 and 1.29, 1.44, 1.59 INR/l at an interest rate of 8, 10 and 12% for CSS and MSSIE with GI tray, respectively. Whereas, AWC for MSSIE get reduced by 9.2, 8.3 and 8.8% compared to CSS for the same rate of interest without GI tray.
