In the present work, a single slope wick-type solar still has been designed and fabricated with optimum design and climatic parameters of Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India. Experiments have been carried out with the proposed still in Coimbatore's local climatic conditions (11°N Latitude) and have shown better performance for the production of distillate yield. Since the coastal areas are diversified with various ecosystems, the proposed still has been simulated in two locations in east (Chennai and Visakhapatnam) and west coast areas (Trivandrum and Mumbai) distillate yield. The study results revealed the still in the coastal areas with better performance with the same product in Coimbatore.
