In this paper, Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA)-based Pareto optimal approach is proposed for optimal network reconductoring of urban distribution systems integrated with solar Distributed Generations (DGs) along with shunt capacitor placement. Predefined fixed Solar DG installation is considered at every node for peak load operation. Multiple Pareto objective functions are formed considering the objectives of minimising conductor investment cost, annual energy loss cost at different load factors and the optimum sizing of shunt capacitors at optimum locations. The proposed algorithm is simulated on 51 bus and 85 bus radial distribution networks. The results obtained with the proposed Pareto FPA are compared with the conventional cost objective function and PSO Pareto algorithms. The economical savings with and without government subsidy on solar DG purchase are analysed. The effect of load growth and increase in solar DG penetration levels on the performance of distribution systems are demonstrated.
