Three ternary blends, D75-WPO20-P05, D70-WPO20-P10 and D65-WCO20-P15 were prepared. The performance and emissions of diesel engine when fuelled with these blends was then analysed in comparison with both neat Diesel and WPO &amp;Diesel blend operation. Propanol addition presented lower smoke emissions and higher HC emissions when compared to both Diesel and WPO &amp; Diesel. Addition of 5% Propanol by volume to WPO and Diesel blend reduces NO x  emissions favourably when compared to both Diesel and WPO &amp; Diesel. NO x  emissions were higher than the corresponding WPO &amp; Diesel case for higher volume Propanol blends. Brake thermal efficiency (BTE) of the engine increased with increasing Propanol fraction in the blends when compared to WPO and Diesel blend. Fuel consumption of ternary blends was found to be better than WPO and Diesel blend. D70-WPO20-P15 blend presented less smoke emissions with improvement in engine performance when compared to WPO and Diesel blend.
