A luminescent Cd-MOF is synthesized based on a triphenylamine-core ligand tris(4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)amine (TIPA), [Cd 2 (TIPA) 2 (oba) 2 ]n( LMOF-1 , oba = 4,4′-oxybisbenzoic). Fluorescence analysis of  LMOF-1  shows blue light which can be attributed to the double role of ligand-to-ligand charge transition (LLCT) and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect, indicating that it can be used as a potential LED phosphor. As a luminescent sensor,  LMOF-1  has excellent performance in detecting Cr 3+ , CrO 42− , and Cr 2 O 72−  in water. Significantly, the quenching coefficient ( KSV ) of Cr 3+  is 1.64 × 10 4  M −1 , which is greater than or comparable to those reported in the literature. Therefore,  LMOF-1  may be an excellent multi-functional response and recyclable luminescent sensor.
