This study uses a rotary twisting machine to fabricate UV-cut twist yarns with 6, 10, 14, 18, or 22 twists/inch, after which their tensile strength is evaluated and thereby determines 10 twists/inch to be an optimal parameter. UV-cut twist yarns, antibacterial yarns, Tetoron® yarns, and polyester yarns are made into elastic knitted fabric that are composed of a stripe structure or a mesh structure. The resulting elastic knitted fabrics are tested for air permeability, a UV-cut feature, antibacterial efficacy, and tensile strength. The test results indicate that an elastic knitted fabric with a mesh structure has optimal air permeability, a UV-cut grade of A, and an antibacterial efficacy of above 95%.
