The method of heat-induced chemical synthesis was successfully used to disperse nanosized semiconducting cadmium telluride particles throughout a polymer matrix of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Various techniques were carried out for the structural and morphological characterization of the polymer nanocomposites; viz. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The present study involved the behavioral analysis of various optical properties; optical absorbance (A), optical band gaps (E g ), transmission (T), Urbach energy (E u ), extinction coefficient (k), refractive index (n), optical conductivity (σ opt ) and real (ε 1 ) and imaginary (ε 2 ) parts of the dielectric constant of the prepared polymer nanocomposites at various temperatures ranging from 303 K to 343 K. Several acoustical parameters; viz. ultrasonic velocity (U), density (ρ), viscosity (η), adiabatic compressibility (β ad ), intermolecular free length (L f ), acoustic impedance (Z), relaxation time (τ), attenuation coefficient (α/f 2 ) and surface tension (σ), were also computed. The evaluations of the various ultrasonic acoustical properties were done to understand the behavioral changes in the particle-fluid interactions with variation in the preparation nanocomposite temperature of the nanocomposite.
