Bi 4 O 5 Br 2  is an excellent semiconductor photocatalyst, but it has limited the visible light absorption range and wide optical band gap. To overcome these drawbacks, Bi 4 O 5 Br 2 /graphene composite samples were prepared using the hydrothermal method and analyzed the morphology, structure, and composition by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x-ray diffractometer (XRD), and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activity of samples was evaluated by the degradation of rhodamine B solution, which showed that the photocatalytic performance of Bi 4 O 5 Br 2  was greatly improved. The maximum improvement of the photocatalytic performance of samples was obtained when the graphene content was 0.0048 g. However, the excess graphene affected the photocatalytic performance.
