Influence of pH of the medium on the crystal phases formation in BaTiO 3  nanoparticles during their peroxide synthesis has been investigated. Nanoparticles in the ferroelectric tetragonal phase are formed at pH 9 when annealed at temperatures above 900 °C. Decreasing pH value to 8 leads to formation of nanoparticles in paraelectric cubic phase, while increasing the annealing temperature to 1100 °C does not lead to formation of other crystalline phases. Increasing pH value to 10 results in the formation of Ba 2 TiO 4  and BaTi 4 O 9  in addition to BaTiO 3 .
