Values of reduced electric octupole transition probabilities, B(E3; ot -31), for the nuclides llB,120,122Sn have been determined using Coulomb excitation with 12C projectiles. The results are in good agreement with shell-model calculations made without introducing effective charges but involving core excitations. Values for B(E2; ot -2t) are also presented.
