New plasma regimes with high confinement, low core impurity accumulation andsmall Edge localized mode (ELMs) perturbations have been obtained close to ITERconditions in magnetically confined plasmas from the Joint European torus (JET)tokamak. Such regimes are achieved by means of optimized particle fuellingconditions which trigger a self-organize state with a strong increase inrotation and ion temperature and a decrease of the edge density. An interplaybetween core and edge plasma regions leads to reduced turbulence levels andoutward impurity convection. These results pave the way to an attractivealternative to the standard plasmas considered for fusion energy generation ina tokamak with metallic wall environment such as the ones expected in ITER
