The influence of orbital momentum in the ionization of a hydrogen atom in a strong field E, by tunnel effect, is considered. When the atom is in the 2P state an asymmetrical distribution in the transverse velocity vT, similar to the Collins effect in quark fragmentation, is predicted: 〈vT〉 points in the direction of E × 〈L〉. The Stark efffect produces oscillations of the average orbital angular momentum 〈LT〉, therefore of 〈VT〉.
