It is reported on the fluorescence mechanisms of Er3+ and Ho3+ impurity ions in LiYF4 single crystals and in fluoride glasses so‐called BATY and BIZYT with the following compositions: BATY : 20 BaF2–28.75 AlF3–22.5 ThF4– (28.75−x−y) YF3–xHoF3–yErF3.
