The temperature-dependent linewidths of excitons in ZnO quantum wells werestudied by measuring absorption spectra from 5 K to room temperature. Wededuced experimentally the exciton-longitudinal-optical (LO) phonon couplingstrength, which showed reduction of coupling with decrease in well width. Thisreduction was explained in terms of confinement-induced enhancement of theexcitonic binding energy by comparing the binding energy dependence ofcalculated coupling strength.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, 1 table, accepted for publication in JA
