A proposed representation of the three-body interaction that affects the equation of state of 4He in the liquid and solid phases and properties like the binding energy, the equilibrium, freezing and melting densities was investigated. With this aim, the bulk helium was described by employing the two-body potential of Aziz and co-workers together with the three-body potential of Cohen and Murrell.
