A wide-band cryogenic amplifier measurement system for time-resolvedfour-point IV-characteristic measurements on 2212-BSCCO mesa structures isdescribed. We present measurements which demonstrate the importance ofself-heating on 50 ns time scales. Such heating is likely to have been verysignificant in many previously published measurements, where the reportednonlinear IV characteristics have been used to derive superconducting energygaps.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures.
