— This paper discusses the stochastic behavior of an intermittently used System. Of interest are (i) the distribution ofthe disappointment time, (ii) the expected number of disappointments during afinite interval, and (iii) the pointwise avaiiability. This paper dérives the above three measures applying a Markov renewal process. A few examples are also presented.
