Magnesium-aluminum spinel MgAl 2 O 4  was synthesized by mechanical treatment of a mixture of hydroxides followed by treatment of the solution at 80 ° C and sintering at 850° C. The obtained nanocrystalline sample with a specific surface area of 100 m 2 /g were used for the preparation of composite solid electrolytes (1-x) LiClO 4 -xMgAl 2 O 4 . It was shown that conductivity increases with the spinel concentration and goes through a maximum of 1.35·10 -2  S/cm at 150 °C for composite 0.3LiClO 4 -0.7MgAl 2 O 4 .
