A class oflanguages is séparable if, for each pair ofnon identical languages V and L", there exists some language L such that Lf\L'= 0oLC\L" T£0. We give a négative answer to the question of separability for a large variety of classes ofinfînitary languages, from Alg* to y j . We then prove that there exists for the calculus of communicating Systems no notion oftesting wnich can separate every pair of agents which differ by their infinité séquences of visible actions.
