Rapidly solidified micro-wires (150 us die) and ribbons (~ 75 um thick) have been produced by direct casting and melt spinning techniques respectively. The alloys studied have the composition (NixfeyAlz) B where x = 0.57-0.62: y=O.09-0.14, x=0.245-0.29. The alloys have been characterized by thermal analysis (0SC) # electrical resistance measurement, tensile testing and microstructural analysis.
