Objectif : L'association chloroquine–proguanil est la prophylaxie antipalustre des zones 2 et 3. Les effets secondaires psychiatriques induits par la chloroquine sont connus avec des troubles de l'humeur et du comportement. Notre travail consiste à rapporter des symptômes psychiatriques après un traitement prophylactique par chloroquine. Matériels et Méthodes : observation personnelle et revue de la littérature. Résultats : Il s'agissait d'une jeune patiente de 23 ans, adressée aux urgences médicales pour prise en charge d'un épisode psychotique aigu avec agitation psychomotrice suite à un traitement prophylactique antipalustre à base de l'association chloroquine-proguanil. Son enfance était marquée par un seul épisode d'hallucination dans un contexte d'anxiété ayant bien évolué mais aucun diagnostic médical n'avait été posé. Ces troubles ont duré plusieurs semaines et ont régressé après l'introduction de neuroleptique. Conclusion : Les symptômes psychiatriques importants secondaires à la chloroquine nécessitent une mise en garde des patients pendant leur utilisation notamment ceux ayant des antécédents psychiatriques.Objective: Chloroquine is combined with Proguanil for chemoprophylaxis of malaria in endemic areas chloroquine-resistant (zones 2 and 3). Several cases of neuropsychiatric adverse events with chloroquine treatment, such as humor and behaviour disorders, have been described. The present case provides induced neuropsychiatric toxicity following antimalarial chemoprophylaxis with chloroquine and proguanil. Materials and Methods: case report and literature review. Result: 22 years old woman who hospitalized in emergency department after developing psychosis with psychomotor agitation following antimalarial chemoprophylaxis with chloroquine and proguanil. Her childhood was remarkable for one single panic attack with delusion; she had no medical diagnoses prior to this event. Her psychosis remitted with neuroleptic after several weeks. Conclusion: It's important that physicians advise patients taking chloroquine prophylaxis to recognize such symptoms especially patients with a history of psychiatric illness
