Le syndrome de Pierre Robin (SPR) touche un enfant sur 8 500 par an en France. L’etiopathogenie est encore obscure. Toutefois, la theorie actuellement retenue est celle d’un dysfonctionnement neonatal du tronc cerebral (ou rhombencephale), responsable des signes malformatifs et des troubles oro-faciaux qui peuvent etre dramatiques. Le SPR constitue une urgence neonatale qui doit etre bien prise en charge par une equipe specialisee multidisciplinaire.
