A method of incremental calculation of chemical shifts in the 13 C NMR spectra for different configurational-compositional sequences, developed for copolymer of methyl methacrylate and ethyl acrylate, PMMA/EA, has been applied to poly(methyl methacrylate) samples of different tacticity. The numerical values of the increments determined for the copolymer can be used in the case of the homopolymer after only minor modifications. A very good agreement between the experimental and simulated spectra was obtained at the triad and pentad level, while the heptad splittings were too small to be decisive.
