Deux souches bacteriennes, une fixatrice d’azote appartenant a l’espece Azospirillum lipoferum et une non fixatrice Enterobacter cloacae ont ete isolees de la rhizosphere du mais en utilisant la methode du modele sper- mosphere. Leur utilisation pour inoculer Zea mays lors d’un essai en pots, a conduit a une forte augmentation de la matiere seche avec Azospirillum et a un effet moindre mais significatif sur certains parametres avec Ente- robacter. Cette approche globale incluant l’isolement et l’inoculation apparait comme une voie interessante pour obtenir une promotion de la croissance vegetale.
