We consider the role of deformations in graphene heterostructures withhexagonal crystals (including strain, wrinkles and dislocations) on thegeometrical properties of moire patterns characteristic for a pair of twoincommensurate misaligned isostructural crystals. By, employing aphenomenological theory to describe generic moire perturbation in van der Waalsheterostructures of graphene and hexagonal crystals we investigate theelectronic properties of such heterostructure.
