High throughput immune repertoire sequencing is promising to lead to newstatistical diagnostic tools for medicine and biology. Successfulimplementations of these methods require a correct characterization, analysisand interpretation of these datasets. We present IGoR -- a new comprehensivetool that takes B or T-cell receptors sequence reads and quantitativelycharacterizes the statistics of receptor generation from both cDNA and gDNA. Itprobabilistically annotates sequences and its modular structure can investigatemodels of increasing biological complexity for different organisms. For B-cellsIGoR returns the hypermutation statistics, which we use to revealco-localization of hypermutations along the sequence. We demonstrate that IGoRoutperforms existing tools in accuracy and estimate the sample sizes needed forreliable repertoire characterization.
