We theoretically and experimentally studied resonance-induced hyperbolicmetasurfaces, proving that it is an efficient way to introduce Fano-resonanceand decreasethe Q-factor in our system in order to create hyperboliciso-frequency contours (IFCs) along two orthogonal directions. The metasurfacewith a continuous topological transition for such IFCs has been designed andexperimentally implemented. In particular, two independent selfcollimationfrequencies corresponding to the transition frequencies in orthogonaldirections. As a consequence, we experimentally demonstrated that themetasurface can function as a position- sensor by utilizing the bidirectionalhyperbolic surface waves, opening a new avenue for position-sensing.
