The exact energy and angular-momentum conservation laws are derived byNoether method for the Hamiltonian and symplectic representations of thegauge-free electromagnetic gyrokinetic Vlasov-Maxwell equations. Thesegyrokinetic equations, which are solely expressed in terms of electromagneticfields, describe the low-frequency turbulent fluctuations that perturb atime-independent toroidally-axisymmetric magnetized plasma. The explicit proofspresented here provide a complete picture of the transfer of energy and angularmomentum between the gyrocenters and the perturbed electromagnetic fields, inwhich the crucial roles played by gyrocenter polarization and magnetizationeffects are highlighted. In addition to yielding an exact angular-momentumconservation law, the gyrokinetic Noether equation yields an exact momentumtransport equation, which might be useful in more general equilibrium magneticgeometries.
