ResumenMéxico es uno de los países con la mayor riqueza de especies de reptiles, sin embargo, para muchas de ellas se desconoce la ecología básica y su área de distribución real. En este estudio se documenta la presencia de Coleonyx elegans, una especie de lagartija protegida por la normatividad ambiental mexicana, en el norte de Veracruz, ampliando el límite norte de su distribución en el Atlántico, a una distancia de 100km del registro más cercano en Veracruz.AbstractMexico is one of the countries where species richness of reptiles is greater; however their basic ecology and current distribution areas are unknown for many of them. In this study we report the presence of Coleonyx elegans, which is a lizard species protected by the Mexican environmental regulation, in northern Veracruz, increasing by 100km its known distribution
