The softening mechanism of unhydrogenated Ti-45Al-5Nb-0.8Mo-0.3Y alloy and Ti-45Al-5Nb-0.8Mo-0.3Y alloy with 1.5 at.% hydrogen addition was investigated in the temperature range between 1000 and 1200°C and the strain rates of 0.01 and 0.1 s-1, carried out on the Gleeble-1500D thermomechanical simulation system. The results showed that the flow stress of the hydrogenated alloy was lower than that of the unhydrogenated alloy. As deformed at 1200°C and strain rate of 0.01s-1, the peak stress of the hydrogenated alloy was decreased by 25.31% compared with that of the unhydrogenated alloy. The softening of the hydrogenated alloy was principally attributed to hydrogen-induced dynamic recrystallization and hydrogen-increased B2 phase
