ResumenLa población juvenil monolingüe de español de la ciudad de Mérida afirma que actualmente la lengua maya tiene mucho valor y prestigio. A pesar de ello, cuando eligen aprender un segundo idioma, la preferencia se inclina hacia el inglés u otra lengua.
