We discuss charged lepton flavour violating processes such as mu -> e gammain supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model and in models withgauge-Higgs unification and a warped extra dimension. In both classes of modelsthe processes turn out to be compatible with present experimental bounds, butcan be detected by future experiments, thanks to the presence of a flavoursymmetry G_f which constrains the form of the relevant couplings. The symmetryG_f is chosen to be finite, discrete and non-abelian and also helps to predictthe peculiar lepton mixing pattern.
