Channeling and radiation are studied for the relativistic electrons andpositrons passing through a Si crystal periodically bent with a small amplitudeand a short period. Comprehensive analysis of the channeling process forvarious bending amplitudes is presented on the grounds of numericalsimulations. The features of the channeling are highlighted and elucidatedwithin an analytically developed continuous potential approximation. Theradiation spectra are computed and discussed.
